Established Plants

Give a thorough soak rather than a daily sprinkle

Borders with mulch need less frequent watering
Pots & Containers

Water more frequently, especially in hot weather

Ensure good drainage to avoid root rot
! Caution: Avoid Overwatering

Too much water can harm roots, especially in heavy or clay soil

Signs of overwatering: yellowing leaves, soft stems, or rotting roots

Let the top few inches of soil dry out before watering again

Always check soil moisture before watering - if it feels damp 2-3 inches down, hold off
